Description

In the experiment P7.1.2.3, Debye-Scherrer photographs are produced by irradiating samples of a fine crystal powder with Mo-K_α radiation. Some of the randomly oriented crystallites conform to the Bragg condition and diffract X-rays into cones for which the aperture angles ϑ can be derived from a photograph. This experiment determines the lattice spacing corresponding to ϑ as well as its Laue indices h, k, l, and thus the lattice structure of the crystallite.
