Synthesis of plastics through polycondensation

LC4.5.2.2
Synthesis of plastics through polycondensation
Synthesis of plastics through polycondensation

Description

In this experiment, the students produce a plastic, a polyester, from citric acid and glycerol. In the process, the students learn about the reaction mechanism of polycondensation. The students experience in this way, by way of example, how a plastic is made from monomers.
