Reactions of metals with air
Reactions of metals with air

Description

As an introduction to the topic of redox reactions the students let iron rust in this experiment. They learn that the rusting of iron is a redox reaction based on the reaction of metals with atmospheric oxygen. The oxygen serves as an oxidizing agent and iron is reduced to an oxide during the reaction.
