The law of conservation of mass

LC1.8.2.1
The law of conservation of mass
The law of conservation of mass

Description

The law of conservation of mass can be explained using a simple exothermic reaction with copper and sulphur. The test tube is hermetically sealed to prevent any exchange of substances with the environment. The students realise that despite the change in the substance, the mass of the system remains constant. Furthermore, the mass defect can be discussed.
